Campaign for Real Education (CRE)

Formed in 1987 by 14 parents and teachers, we campaign for higher standards and more parental choice in education.

The CRE is neither of the Left nor of the Right and it is not affiliated to any political cause or party. It is funded entirely by voluntary donations.

Since its foundation, members of our executive committee have advised both 10 Downing Street and the Department for Education. We have, also, been represented on a number of government advisory bodies.

Whilst in office, both a schools minister and a secretary of state have chaired or addressed CRE meetings. Prime ministerial praise for CRE members is a matter of public record.

The views of the CRE have long been regularly sought and reported by most major media outlets in the UK and by many from around the world.

This Newsletter marks a change in the operation of the Campaign for Real Education. At the heart of the debate!

Over the decades the Campaign has been contacted by thousands of parents, teachers and academics who share our concerns. Many UK media outlets report the views of the CRE or carry articles by current committee members.
